What is the mood of a story?

The mood of the story is like the mood of whats going on.If your reading a horror book and you feel not the slightest bit of horror or anything of the sort,it show what the mood of the story wasnt there.You said the Lion,the Witch and the Wardrobe.Well from what I read from the book it has its different parts.Its kinda like being empithetic.Not sure if it makes since or not.Hope it was some kinda help.

A story can be variety mood like romantic, action, horror etc
